We have an amazing, dedicated and talented team of instructors and playgroup captains here at FIT4MOM Montgomery County, and I thought it would be nice if we could get to know a little more about each one of them. I'm excited to continue our spotlight this month with....our newest addition to the instructor team, Andie Burke!
I remember meeting Andie right after she began taking classes. We had new babies who were very close in age, and we always had sleepless nights in common! But the thing that really stuck with me from the beginning about Andie is the way she listens, and you truly feel how much she cares about what you're saying. She knows how to make you feel important! I think that's an incredibly valuable attribute in a team member. It wasn't long after she began that she was hooked, and she was in classes regularly. She decided to join Body Back, she even took on the role of Playgroup Captain while another team member was on maternity leave. She certainly wears many hats! Andie is the most recent addition to the instructor portion of the team, and I am excited for you to meet her if you haven't already! Thank you for ALL you do for us, Andie! xo, Heather

1. Who are the members of your family?
My husband Stephen and I just celebrated our ten year wedding anniversary. We have two kiddos--Amelia who is 3 years old and Emerson who is 14 months.
2. Where can people find you? Where do you teach?
I will be teaching Wednesdays at the outlets and filling in for other instructors as needed in the upcounty locations.
3. Tell us your FIT4MOM story!
I started Stroller Strides a little over a year ago. I was amazed at how supportive this village of moms is. I never thought I would be able to run a mile or do a single high intensity interval work-out. I was stuck in a rut of inactivity and new-mom-isolation. FIT4MOM gave me a new life full of friendship, encouragement, and fitness. I started body back at the end of last summer, and since then I try to attend multiple classes a week, and I have run 10k. I had lots of reservations about becoming an instructor, but this amazing organization gave me the confidence I needed to start teaching! I have loved every minute of it so far!
4. What is your favorite thing to teach/do with our kiddos and/or moms?
I love a class with a good theme! I love making up hard work-outs that simultaneously entertain all of the little ones!
5. What is the BEST thing about being an instructor?
Seeing the moms covered in sweat but with big smiles on their faces at the end of a great work-out.
6. What is your WHY? Why do you keep doing what you do?
Stroller Strides changed my life. I'm thrilled to be a part of a team that provides so much to the moms who attend classes. I love connecting with new people, rocking the sweet babies, and knowing that sometime this one hour can make a huge difference in someone's entire week.
7. What is a fun fact that many may not know about you?
I'm also a nurse! I worked at Georgetown in Pediatric Transplant for five years, and I just started working in the float pool at Shady Grove Medical Center.
8. Anything else you'd like Our Village to know?
I love meeting new people and helping people feel plugged into this fantastic group of moms! Come to me with anything. I'm happy to listen if you need to talk.
Andie, thank you thank you for being such an integral part of this team! I appreciate all you do for all of us here at FIT4MOM Montgomery County, and I can't wait for everyone to get out and experience your classes!
