August 2021 MOM - Motivating Mom of the Month

We are so excited to announce our MOM (Motivating Mom of the Month) for August! Each month we will take a moment to honor one of our local mamas at FIT4MOM Montgomery + Frederick Counties. We want to highlight her efforts to lead a healthy lifestyle and for her dedication to the program. This month we honor....Michelle Laframboise!

"I met Michelle last fall back when she was pregnant and not even showing and we were always masked and had never seen each others' entire faces. She not only attended Body Boost until she delivered, but ROCKED her workouts. It has been such a pleasure to watch her transform into a mom. Michelle lights up any time she mentions her daughter. We are so lucky to have Michelle as part of our village, and I am lucky to call her a friend!" ~ Instructor Jessie

We asked Michelle a few questions so we can all get to know her better, and here is what she had to say:

Who are the members of your family?

Our family is: Joe, Michelle & Juniper Nudi

What is/was your career?

I work as an accounting manager for a small real estate developer in Bethesda called Stonebridge.

When was your first class, and what do you remember about it?

My 1st class was Fit4Baby in October 2020 during the pandemic with Andrea. There was also a guest speaker who joined for the night. I learned so much about being a mom in that class and knew right away I wanted to continue with Fit4Mom.

Where can we find you? What is your FIT4MOM routine these days?

These days you will primarily find me at Montgomery Mall for in person body boost classes and occasionally for stroller strides. I’m looking forward to jumping in more often when our summer traveling slows down a bit!

What is your favorite exercise that you have done with FIT4MOM (in Strides, Barre, 360, Body Ignite or Body Boost)?

I love everything abs and arms! Squats are definitely not my thing but I really appreciate the full body workouts in all of the classes. I always feel like I get a great workout in by the end of class.

What has being a mom taught you?

Being a mom has taught me so much more than I can express here. I suppose the biggest lesson for me is that absolutely nothing is more important than my family. Returning to work and trying to balance that with family time has been a challenge. I have been fortunate thus far to work out a schedule that allows me to put my family first.

List 3 of your favorite things.

I love hiking. You can usually find me out on a trail somewhere with Juniper every weekend if the weather cooperates! I enjoy playing broomball (you can find clips of it on YouTube - it’s basically ice hockey but without skates) and doing escape rooms/board games on rainy days.

Give us a giggle- What is your funniest or most embarrassing mommy moment so far?

This weekend we visited family for my grandfathers 90th birthday. When we arrived and pulled Juniper out of the car seat she was covered in poop and there was a puddle of poop still in the seat. For the first 10 minutes of the party everyone was running around helping clean poop out of something. It was a nice way to say hello to the family!

Any advice for other moms out there?

My best advice to other moms would be to remember that your best is enough. Juggling work, cleaning, family time, events, etc. can be challenging. Sometimes your best doesn’t feel good enough, but give yourself a break. You’re still a great mom, even if that bathroom hasn’t been cleaned in 5 months!

What would you tell someone who is considering attending their first #fit4mommocofrederick class?

My advice for new members would be to ask any and all questions about motherhood regardless of how silly or inappropriate they may seem. I’ve learned so much from the Fit4Mom family and everyone had been so willing to offer great tips and advice without judgement. You will get a great workout, but most importantly you get to share both the joys and the struggles of motherhood with your classmates and instructors.
