December 2021 MOM-Motivating Mom of the Month

We are so excited to announce our MOM (Motivating Mom of the Month) for December! Each month we will take a moment to honor one of our local mamas at FIT4MOM Montgomery + Frederick Counties. We want to highlight her efforts to lead a healthy lifestyle and for her dedication to the program. This month we honor....Rebecca Minnick!

Becca consistently comes to class with a smile and positive attitude! She always gives it her all and is enthusiastic when playing games or participating in a themed dance in class. Marielle is lucky to have such a strong mom and role model!~Instructor Marcie

Becca is an inspiring mama! She works hard and is always ready for any challenge. She has so much positive energy and is such an amazing role model for her cutie, as well as all the other mamas. So glad she is part of our village!~Instructor Meegan

We asked Rebecca a few questions so we can all get to know her better, and here is what she had to say:

Who are the members of your family?

Our family consists myself, my hubby Jerad, our daughter Marielle (22 months) and sweet dog, Bella Rae.

What is/was your career?

My degree is in Exercise Science/Public Health, I was a Family Manager, now a SAHM.

When was your first class, and what do you remember about it?

My first class was a Strides class at Baker Park with Meeghan. I remember feeling welcomed within the first minute of my arrival and could tell it was something more than just a workout class.

Where can we find you? What is your FIT4MOM routine these days?

Marielle and I attend class almost daily either in Clarksburg, Urbana and Baker Park and our favorite classes are Barre and 360.

What is your favorite exercise that you have done with FIT4MOM (in Strides, Barre, 360, Body Ignite or Body Boost)?

My favorite exercises are the ones I’ve never done/seen before. I love learning new things and challenging my body.

What has being a mom taught you?

Oh man, what hasn’t being a Mom taught me would be the better question! I really don’t know where to start with this, but being a Mom is something I have dreamed of my entire life and taught I knew exactly what to expect, little did I know it’s so much more. Being a mom has literally taught me everything. And patience, lots of patience!

List 3 of your favorite things.

My three favorite things are my family, food and all the holidays!

Give us a giggle- What is your funniest or most embarrassing mommy moment so far?

My funniest/grossest mommy moment was this summer when Marielle was playing in the yard barefoot. She stepped in a new pile of our dogs droppings, slid, got up and kept running like nothing had happened. The clean up was a lot lol.

Any advice for other moms out there?

I am a very organized person, so my best advise is to go with the flow and be flexible. Nothing in the world is better than those little faces that look to you everyday, so everything else can wait.

What would you tell someone who is considering attending their first #fit4mommocofrederick class?

If your thinking about attending a Fit4Mom class just do it! I wish I had tried/joined sooner. The Fit4Mom program has been such a fantastic part of both Marielle’s and my day, from the activities, friendships, support and movement, it really is amazing.
