January 2018 MOM-Motivating Mom of the Month

We are so excited to announce our MOM (Motivating Mom of the Month) for January! Each month we will take a moment to honor one of our local FIT4MOM Montgomery County Moms for her efforts to lead a healthy lifestyle and for her dedication to the program. This month we honor Sarah Dorris!

Sarah is one strong mom, and I don’t just mean physically, although her push ups are always impressive! She has a positive attitude in everything she does from motherhood to her business and workouts. She comes to class ready to work and is a consistent smiling face at our Clarksburg classes. We love having you in our village! ~Instructor Katie Henry

Sarah is one of those people that I just feel honored to know. She's kind + caring, and her determination is off the charts. She comes to class every chance she gets, and when she's there she W O R K S. Hard. She inspires those around her, and I couldn't be happier that she's part of this village! ~Instructor Heather

We asked Sarah a few questions so we can all get to know her better, and here is what she had to say:

1. Who are the members of your family?

My husband, Carl , our two boys, Carl, V aka Cinco -7, Maximus-4 , our daughter, Adalynn-2 and two Yorkies, Daisy and Tripper.

2. What is/was your career?

I have the best job in the world! I am a Rodan & Fields consultant that gives me the flexibility to stay home with my tiny humans.

3. When was your first class, and what do you remember about it?

My first class was early last year. Beth had been asking me to come along for months & I finally said yes! I was so impressed at how the sweat was pouring off of me. I was hooked!

4. Where can we find you? What is your Fit4Mom routine these days?

I attend stroller strides at the Clarksburg outlets & Arora Hills Park/Church. I push to go M-F but life happens. My goal weekly is to attend at least 3 classes.

5. What is your favorite strides exercise?

I LOVE burpees! Silly but burpees & arm exercises get me excited! LOL

6. What has being a mom taught you?

Patience! I have learned to laugh more, understand they are always watching & it’s ok to be a hot mess! I have learned to be a doctor, scientist, cook, teacher, etc……..& unconditional love even with the toughest days!

7. List 3 of your favorite things.

Coffee, Wine & Gymnastics!

8. Give us a giggle- What is your funniest or most embarrassing mommy moment so far?

I am known as the poop queen! It follows me everywhere Maximus decided to poop his pants last summer in the park after stroller strides. Best part is it fell out in a large clump on the sidewalk! Epic mom fail I had no wipes or extra clothes!

9. Any advice for other moms out there?

Being a mom is hard but it’s the very best gift I could have ever asked for in life! You learn your strengths & overcome your fears! Take time for yourself & don’t be afraid to make new friends.

10. What would you tell someone who is considering attending their first Fit4Mom MoCo class?

Say Yes! I wish I had joined when my oldest was little! I am a military wife and meet moms all over the US. There is truly nothing more unique or motivating then a Fit4Mom MoCo class!

Thank you, Sarah, for being such a valuable part of Our Village here at FIT4MOM Montgomery County! We truly appreciate you & the positive energy you bring to class and Our Village!

Check back to see who our MOM will be in February!
