July 2021 MOM-Motivating Mom of the Month

We are so excited to announce our MOM (Motivating Mom of the Month) for July! Each month we will take a moment to honor one of our local mamas at FIT4MOM Montgomery + Frederick Counties. We want to highlight her efforts to lead a healthy lifestyle and for her dedication to the program. This month we honor....Mandy Eiche!

"I was lucky enough to meet Mandy at her first class and since that day she has stayed so committed to taking care of herself. From her many mornings in stroller classes to her hard work in Transformation & Body Well sessions, Mandy always brings her positive energy and kind smile with her. It’s been amazing to watch Mandy make herself a priority as she transitioned to a mom of two over the past year." ~Instructor Katie

"Mandy embodies so many qualities of an amazing strong fit mama! She comes to every class with a smile on her face and models for her girls how to be healthy and happy. I love being able to chat with Mandy after class and getting to know her." ~Instructor Liz

We asked Mandy a few questions so we can all get to know her better, and here is what she had to say:

Who are the members of your family?

My husband a Kevin, daughters Sydney (3.5) and Quinn (10 months), and our dog Zoey.

What is/was your career?

I did quality assurance for a small biotech company in Gaithersburg.

When was your first class, and what do you remember about it?

My first class was in august 2018. Sydney was 10 months old and cried and screamed the whole time. Katie H. told me to just keep going (we were running stairs at the time) and that she had Sydney. That was when I knew it was something I wanted to continue doing! Having the support of the instructors and other moms has been amazing!

Where can we find you? What is your FIT4MOM routine these days?

I am usually at a mix of Urbana and Clarksburg 360 and stroller strides classes.

What is your favorite exercise that you have done with FIT4MOM (in Strides, Barre, 360, Body Ignite or Body Boost)?

I love anything with an anchored resistance tube!

What has being a mom taught you?

Patience

List 3 of your favorite things.

Dockdogs with my dog, Zoey. Quiet morning coffee before the kids wake up. Baking/crafting.

Give us a giggle- What is your funniest or most embarrassing mommy moment so far?

I was on the board of the local dockdogs club for 5 years. After Sydney was born, I didn't run for reelection and at the banquet at the end of the year the club president was giving a thank you speech about me. During it, Sydney let out a giant fart and everyone started laughing (including me) during what was supposed to be a sincere and heartfelt speech.

Any advice for other moms out there?

Take some time for yourself! After giving, giving, and giving with a newborn, getting back into classes for some "me" time, even though the kids were with me, really helped me mentally!

What would you tell someone who is considering attending their first #fit4mommocofrederick class?

Just do it! Even if you aren't sure you are ready, give it a go and you will learn how everything can be modified to make it a workout for YOU! And bring ALL the snacks! Haha
