March 2022 MOM-Motivating Mom of the Month

We are so excited to announce our MOM (Motivating Mom of the Month) for March! Each month we will take a moment to honor one of our local mamas at FIT4MOM Montgomery + Frederick Counties. We want to highlight her efforts to lead a healthy lifestyle and for her dedication to the program. This month we honor....Kimberly Auerbach!

I LOVE having Kim in class- both to work out with and chat with after class. She works so hard while also balancing snacks, falling mittens, toddler bathroom breaks and engaging with all of the moms. She shows up in any weather and is a great role model to her sweet kiddos. We are so lucky to have Kim as a part of our Village!~Instructor Jessie

Kim is a joy to have in class, her smile and energy is contagious ! She shows up ready to workout hard no matter how cold or hot it is outside ! I love chatting with her after the classes.~Instructor Ewa

We asked Kim a few questions so we can all get to know her better, and here is what she had to say:

Who are the members of your family?

Myself, Kim, my husband, David, and our two little ones: Alexander (3 yr) and Anastasia (almost 17 mo).

What is/was your career?

I used to work in the biopharmaceutical industry in global supply chain and stepped away from my career when Anna was born.

When was your first class, and what do you remember about it?

My first class was Stroller Strides in January 2019 at Montgomery Mall (indoors!) when I was on maternity leave with Alex and I just remember thinking 'how did it take me longer to get ready and get to class than the class itself was???' I did eventually become more efficient :)

Where can we find you? What is your FIT4MOM routine these days?

Since escaping the corporate rat race, I try to go to in-person outdoor class 5 days a week, because, why not?! You can find me at Pike & Rose Mon/Fri, Montgomery Mall Tues/Thurs, Rio Wed and virtual Boost Sat.

What is your favorite exercise that you have done with FIT4MOM (in Strides, Barre, 360, Body Ignite or Body Boost)?

I always like some type of partner or team relay to push myself for the sake of others.

What has being a mom taught you?

To let go of control and perfection and instead focus on managing my expectations and responses.

List 3 of your favorite things.

Sleep, sleep, and sleep foot rubs!!!

Give us a giggle- What is your funniest or most embarrassing mommy moment so far?

After Alex's first day of preschool I was busy getting Anna in her car seat and looked over and Alex had dropped his pants and was peeing on the car tire, within eyesight of the preschool director. Oops. This should not be a surprise to those who come to class with us :)

Any advice for other moms out there?

"Comparison is the thief of joy" - as hard as it is to not compare your kid(s) to other kids, it really is the way to go.

What would you tell someone who is considering attending their first #fit4mommocofrederick class?

Just do it! Even though it might seem like it's not worth the effort to get yourself and your little one(s) out of the house, once you make it to class you will not regret the socialization with other amazing mamas, getting your body moving, being outdoors, etc. etc. etc.!

Thank you so much, Kim for being such a valuable part of Our Village here at FIT4MOM Montgomery + Frederick Counties! We truly appreciate you & the positive energy you bring to class and Our Village!

Check back to see who our next MOM will be in April!
