November 2019 MOM- Motivating Mom of the Month

We are so excited to announce our MOM (Motivating Mom of the Month) for November! Each month we will take a moment to honor one of our local FIT4MOM Montgomery County Moms for her efforts to lead a healthy lifestyle and for her dedication to the program. This month we honor....Julie Forrest!

Julie is such a positive source of energy during classes! She shows up ready to work out and consistently pushes herself to get the most out of each exercise. I look forward to each and every class I’m instructing that she attends as well as attending alongside with her. ~ Instructor Courtland

Julie always arrives to class with a big smile on her face. She is a consistently hard worker and loves to chat #allthingsfit4mom to friends. Her bubbly personality brings such a great energy to the classes she attends. I should also mention her form is 💯 We are so happy Julie is a part of the #fit4mommoco community! ~ Instructor Maya

Julie has the brightest smile :) ! Always works hard and her form is absolutely perfect! She is super nice, kind and friendly ! From day one very consistent with workouts, always on time and ready to sweat. Love having her in my classes! ~ Instructor Ewa

We asked Julie a few questions so we can all get to know her better, and here is what she had to say:

Who are the members of your family?

My Husband Zach, myself and our 7-month-old son Ryder.

What is/was your career?

I was a preschool teacher before I became a full-time mommy.

When was your first class, and what do you remember about it?

My first class was Ewa’s Thursday stroller strides at Montgomery Mall in April. I had just gotten cleared to workout and my friend Lindsay invited me to go to a class with her and I was worried I would be so out of shape and unable to keep up. It was such a great workout and everyone was so nice and friendly, I was hooked!

Where can we find you? What is your FIT4MOM routine these days?

I am usually at Montgomery Mall on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Pike and Rose on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Occasionally, I pop up in the Kentlands or Rio to switch things up.

What is your favorite strides exercise?

I love the mini band, especially on the legs. I like the extra burn it gives even for little movements.

What has being a mom taught you?

SO MUCH! I am learning that I cant control everything 😉(still working on that one ha!), that time really does go so fast and to cherish every moment and be present. Becoming a mom has introduced me to a love like nothing I’ve experienced before!

List 3 of your favorite things.

My family, good food and travel.

Give us a giggle- What is your funniest or most embarrassing mommy moment so far?

When Ryder was a couple weeks old, we were downstairs changing a diaper and still getting used to trying not to get peed on with each change. My husband was talking to Ryder as I was changing him and Zach said “Don’t pee on mommy” and of course Ryder peed right on Zach. I started laughing and then Ryder proceeded to fart and poop all over me. Zach and I both just started laughing as we are covered in our child’s bodily fluids! Welcome to parenthood!

Any advice for other moms out there?

Find your support network (this village, my family and shout out to my mom squad!), it really does take a village to raise a child! Also, take time for you and treat yourself every now and then. Give yourself grace, being a mom is the hardest and best job in the world, remember there is no “right” way to do it!

What would you tell someone who is considering attending their first #fit4mommoco class?

DO IT! I say all the time that joining Fit4Mom was one of the best decisions I made! No matter how I am feeling when I get to class, I always leave feeling amazing! Going to class is the one thing I do for myself everyday and it makes me a better mom to my baby. We have made some great friends and I can’t say enough good things about this village, just go!

Thank you, Julie for being such a valuable part of Our Village here at FIT4MOM Montgomery County! We truly appreciate you & the positive energy you bring to class and Our Village!

Check back to see who our MOM will be in December!
