November 2021 MOM-Motivating Mom of the Month

We are so excited to announce our MOM (Motivating Mom of the Month) for November! Each month we will take a moment to honor one of our local mamas at FIT4MOM Montgomery + Frederick Counties. We want to highlight her efforts to lead a healthy lifestyle and for her dedication to the program. This month we honor....Holly Rogner!

"I have loved having Holly in my classes! She is such a bright light in class and her positive, go-getter attitude is such an inspiration to all around her!" ~ Instructor Courtland

"Since joining classes Holley has jumped in with both feet. She attends multiple classes and locations a week. Her energy is contagious and I love watching her meet and beat her fitness goals!" ~ Instructor Alice

We asked Holly a few questions so we can all get to know her better, and here is what she had to say:

Who are the members of your family?

Myself, my husband, Eric, and our kids, Violet (3) and Silas (1.5).

What is/was your career?

I just went back to work after being home with my kids for the past two years. I’m the Club and Foundation Manager for the Kiwanis Club of Washington, D.C. We provide programming, services, and financial support to benefit the well-being of kids in the district.

When was your first class, and what do you remember about it?

I think it was a class in DTSS this past April. My neighbor and dear friend, Dina, was going to the class with her infant and invited me along.

Where can we find you? What is your FIT4MOM routine these days?

I like to mix it up but typically I attend classes 3-4 days a week at DTSS, Pike & Rose, Montgomery Mall. When Silas needs a change of scenery, we go to RIO.

What is your favorite exercise that you have done with FIT4MOM (in Strides, Barre, 360, Body Ignite or Body Boost)?

Barre anything that Courtland or Kelci has you do where there are several sets of different exercises on each side of your body and you feel like your body is going to give out but you keep going. Also 360 relays with Alice!

What has being a mom taught you?

I am the best mom for my kids. Period. It helps me to not compare myself or my kids to others.

List 3 of your favorite things.

Me time (Fit4Mom), McDonald’s fountain Coca-Cola (I’m not always healthy!), and monograms

Give us a giggle- What is your funniest or most embarrassing mommy moment so far?

I feel like I’ve desensitized myself to embarrassing moments with two toddlers at home but it was probably the first newborn blowout Violet gave me when I traveled alone to meet friends at Butler’s Fall Festival. I screamed “new mom” that day for sure!

Any advice for other moms out there?

You are the best mom for your kid(s).

Self-care isn’t selfish. It’s also not basic hygiene or chores and we shouldn’t have to be grateful to have the opportunity to do any of these things, alone, ever.

What would you tell someone who is considering attending their first #fit4mommocofrederick class?

Only my favorite motto ever, come for the workout, stay for the community!

Thank you so much, Holly, for being such a valuable part of Our Village here at FIT4MOM Montgomery + Frederick Counties! We truly appreciate you & the positive energy you bring to class and Our Village!

Check back to see who our MOM will be in December!
