Team Spotlight - December 2018

You probably already know this, but we have an amazing, dedicated and talented team of instructors and playgroup captains here at FIT4MOM Montgomery County. I thought it would be nice if you could get to know a little more about each one of them, and I'm excited to continue our spotlight this month with....Loretta Ingalls!

Loretta may be one of the kindest humans I've ever encountered. Truly. You know that kind of person whom you talk with, and you can feel how they are really listening and care about what you're saying? That's Loretta. She has this way of making you feel important, of supporting you, and whether it's intentional or not, it's magnificent.

Loretta is reliable, helpful and generous. She's a wonderful part of this #dreamteam, and I feel so fortunate that I was introduced to her by some of our other team members over a year ago now. Hopefully you'll be fortunate enough to meet Loretta and even take one of her classes one day soon!

Thank you for all you do for our village, the #dreamteam and for me, Loretta!

xoxo, Heather

3. Tell us your {entire} FIT4MOM story!

I had been wanting to try Stroller Strides after having Lucy, but she wasn't the best sleeper so I had a hard time committing to leave the house on time to make it to class. Finally, I got it together and decided to attend as a Mother's Day gift to myself when Lucy was about 6 months old, and I'm so glad I did! It was so nice being around other moms, working out, and having a reason to get out of the house for a few hours. I was so excited to have the opportunity to become an instructor and meet even more moms in our amazing village.

4. What is your favorite thing to teach in class?

I love combining squats with bicep curls - something about doing bicep curls makes me feel powerful!

5. What do you LOVE about being an instructor?

I love creating a space for moms to connect with each other and themselves while I try to entertain the kiddos for a little while.

6. What is your WHY? Why do you keep doing what you do?

I love showing Lucy and the other kiddos in class that it's important for moms to take care of themselves too. Even if that means Lucy makes me do burpees at home!

7. What is a fun fact that many may not know about you?

I was an EMT in college! I thought about going to med school, but then I became an EMT and decided to major in Spanish instead :)

8. Anything else you'd like Our Village to know?

I'm thankful I get to spend even a few short hours with the moms in this village each week!
