Team Spotlight - February 2019
You probably already know this, but we have an amazing, dedicated and talented team of instructors and playgroup captains here at FIT4MOM Montgomery County. I thought it would be nice if you could get to know a little more about each one of them, and I'm excited to continue our spotlight this month with....Allie Herron!
Allie is an awesome playgroup captain! She comes up with new and fun ideas, making sure all of the kids can participate. Allie is an awesome addition to any class and helps with kids when needed! ~instructor Liz
Allie is a wonderful addition to our playgroup team! I love the creative and fun crafts that she brings for our kiddos. She is also always willing to jump in and help out whenever needed. A great example of that is her taking on a second playgroup during our newest Body Back midday sessions! We are so lucky to have her and her beautiful family as part of Our Village! ~ Our Village Manager & Instructor Adrienne
Since joining our playgroup team Allie has planned some really fun activities for all of the Clarksburg kids. It’s always fun to see the kids engage in her activities after class and now that she’s turned into the crafting queen you never know what she’ll come up with for a fun craft. I’m really looking forward to seeing all of the amazing things she has planned for our upcoming Body Back Transformation playgroup at Adventure Zone. ~Instructor & Body Back Manager Katie
Allie has planned creative activities that engage the children. We look forward to her weekly crafts and when we’re able to join in on the field trips! Allie talks with the children to ask how she can help them throughout their projects. I greatly appreciate Allie’s willingness to help me balance playgroup with my children of different capabilities. Allie is amazing! Despite working and being in school, she makes time for classes and coming up with fantastic crafts. My kids especially liked the sensory bottle craft! ~Instructor Andie
Allie is such an awesome addition to our dream team! She has fun activities for the kiddos during playgroups, she helps me entertain my own child while I'm teaching classes, and she steps up to help at team events. I appreciate you, Allie! ~Heather
1. Who are the members of your family?
The people in my family are my husband Jason, step sons Josh (15), Jake (12), Natalie (11), and Aubrey (3).
2. Where can people find you? Where do you teach/lead playgroup?
People can find me in Clarksburg at Greenridge Gym/Arora Hills, and the Outlets. I lead playgroup in Clarksburg at Greenridge Gym/Arora Hills, and soon to be Adventure Zone!
3. Tell us your FIT4MOM story! Yes, the entiiiiiiire thing.
When I first heard about Stroller Strides Aubrey was an Infant and my Husbands cousin was teaching in Frederick and she invited me to try it out. It was summer time and what else was I going to do with all these kids. It was the summer of 2016 I believe. It was perfect because the big kids could play and I could get back in shape. Once school started back up it was to hard to get there on time so that is when I reached out to Fit4mom Montgomery county. I joined August of 2016. This journey has been amazing for me. I had just moved to MD not long before I had Aubrey so I didn’t really know anyone here. This group of moms were so welcoming, It did take some time for me to find those core group of friends, but now I have no idea what I would do without them. I began leading playgroup September 2017. It has been awesome and I really enjoy watching the kids craft and play together, and really getting to be a part of these kids lives and getting to know them and watch them grow.
4. What is your favorite thing to do with our kiddos and/or moms?
We really enjoy going Rock Climbing on the weekends, and taking walks/hikes when it is nice out.
5. What is the BEST thing about being a playgroup captain?
I think the BEST thing about being playgroup captain is being apart of these kids lives and watching them grow and change.
6. What is your WHY? Why do you keep doing what you do?
Honestly, I keep doing all of this for my sanity, it makes me feel good, and the conversations I have with the moms during playgroup mean everything. They help me realize I am not alone, and I hope I do the same for them.
7. What is a fun fact that many may not know about you?
I’m not sure if its fun, but I am currently in school trying to become a Nurse.
8. Anything else you'd like Our Village to know?
I would just like to say that if you are new and are still trying to figure it out, stick it out, you will find your moms that will change your life and make you feel like you are more than just a mom, or wife. Also all you Mamas are amazing!!
