March 5 & 6: Babyproofing 101

Wondering when you should start baby proofing your home? How to start? Bring your questions to a post-class “Baby Proofing 101” presentation on March 5, following Stroller Strides at Greenridge Gym and on March 6, following Stroller Strides at The Collection in Chevy Chase.

Michelle Kauffman, co-owner of Baby Proofing Montgomery, will be joining us to discuss the ins and outs of how to make your home safer for your little ones.

Baby Proofing Montgomery creates safer homes for infants and toddlers. They offer professional childproofing consultations, home assessments, products, and installations. Their objective is to minimize the risk of injury based on the layout of your home and age of your children. They address issues related to staircases, cabinets, drawers, furniture, doors, windows, electrical components, chemicals, and more. When your babies are crawling and exploring, it's time to give them a call.

Baby Proofing Montgomery services the MD, DC, and NoVA region. To learn more, check out babyproofingmontgomery.com and facebook.com/babyproofingmontgomery.

March 13: Believe in Yourself!

Believe in Yourself is going to be a special real talk that's designed for the little ones (and fun for moms too)!

Come learn about what an Author is, what an Illustrator is, talk about Imagination, creativity and adventure, and of course, believing in yourself!

We will have a fun author visit after our Stroller Barre class at Clarksburg Premium Outlets with Cathrina Gaba, author of Mary Sue Ellen Samantha McClue, about a little girl with big dreams (AND a former member of FIT4MOMMOCO too!).

Join her on an adventure that reminds us all of life's greatest lesson: Believe in Yourself. The first 10 participants to register for class will even get autographed copies of the book upon arrival! So register for that day's stroller barre now, and get ready for some fun together!

March 16: Injury Prevention in Running

Real Talk Event: Injury Prevention in Running, presented by coach Rachel Miller is an opportunity for running moms to learn steps to avoid running injuries and differentiate between sore and injured. Join us after run club (or come meet us there), for this fun & informative session.

After the talk feel free to stick around for light refreshments, learn about Fleet Feet’s FitID shoe fit process and even find out if you are wearing the right bra.

Hint: Your sports bra should not chafing.

March 20: Sleep Solutions!

Come get great tips on how to get more sleep! Our Real Talk about sleep solutions will be immediately after our Stroller Strides class in the old Ralph Lauren building at The Collection.

March 31: Nutrition 101!

After our kick-off Strides 360 class on March 31, stick around with us to get some expert nutrition advice and ideas. Ask questions and get answers from an expert!

Veronica Chocron Yu is a registered dietitian/nutritionist in the DC Metro Area. She received her Bachelors degree in Exercise Science from the University of Florida and her Masters of Science in Nutrition in 2013. Over the past 5 years, she has been working as a dietitian with children and adults in acute care and outpatient practice. She currently works full time with Pediatric Associates and has her own virtual counseling practice for adults. She loves working with families to get to the "root cause" of health dilemmas and is passionate about helping moms find nutritious recipes that will keep them and their little ones satisfied!

On March 31st, Veronica will meet with our group to speak about general nutrition that is sustainable for life, with a focus on post-partum nutrition needs for mom and baby.
