We are so excited to announce our MOM (Motivating Mom of the Month) for September! Each month we will take a moment to honor one of our local FIT4MOM Montgomery County Moms for her efforts to lead a healthy lifestyle and for her dedication to the program. This month we honor....Mandy Eiche!
Ever since her first class Mandy has been committed! When she starts something, she finishes and she finishes strong no matter what challenges may come into play. Mandy is a supportive friend to the other mamas in this village and has inspired others to work toward their goals due to her hard work and successes. ~ Instructor Katie H.
Mandy is always enthusiastic and positive about her Body Back transformation. She always seems to have a new tasty recipe to share with the group. I’m consistently surprised with the many talents she possesses and her thoughtfulness in sharing some of her homemade creations with the other moms in class. Her commitment to Body Back is very inspiring for other moms in the session. ~ Instructor Jessica
Mandy is so committed to working hard and being a positive role model for other moms and her daughter. She works hard and puts her health first. She is great to have in class and share ideas with. ~ Instructor Liz
We asked Mandy a few questions so we can all get to know her better, and here is what she had to say:
Who are the members of your family?
My family consists of myself, my husband, Kevin, and our daughter, Sydney (22 months), and our dog, Zoey (10.5)
What is/was your career?
In my previous career, I did quality assurance at a small biotech company in Gaithersburg. Now I am a stay at home mommy to Sydney!
When was your first class, and what do you remember about it?
My first class was at the end of August in 2018. I remember Katie having us run the steps at the outlets. I thought my legs were going to give out, I could hear Sydney crying and thought she was being a disturbance, but Katie said just keep going, I've got her. That's when I knew this was something I could do knowing I had the support of the instructors and other mamas.
Where can we find you? What is your FIT4MOM routine these days?
I am usually at body back on Monday and Wednesday nights at the outlets (I've done transformation sessions since January), stroller strides at Aurora Hills on Thursdays and the Outlets on Fridays, and then sometimes body back or 360 at Rio on the weekends (though this summer weekends have been busy and I haven't made it there much!)
What is your favorite strides exercise?
Anything with the resistance tube… Especially if it is an exercise with the tube anchored to something.
What has being a mom taught you?
List 3 of your favorite things.
1.Dock diving with our dog, Zoey.
3.A nice afternoon nap.
Give us a giggle- What is your funniest or most embarrassing mommy moment so far?
I was a on the board of the local dockdogs club for 5 years. After Sydney was born, I didn't run for reelection and at the banquet at the end of the year the club president was giving a thank you speech about me. During it, Sydney let's out a giant fart and everyone starts laughing (including me) during what was supposed to be a sincere and heartfelt speech.
Any advice for other moms out there?
When Sydney was born, I was given the advice that if she was crying and crying and I was starting to feel overwhelmed from not knowing what she needed… If all her needs were met, yet she was still crying, that it was okay to set her down in her crib (or other safe space) and walk away for a few minutes to get a short mental break before going back in and continuing trying to soothe her.
What would you tell someone who is considering attending their first #fit4mommoco class?
Just do it! Even if you aren't sure you are ready, give it a go and you will learn how everything can be modified to make it a workout for YOU!
Thank you, Mandy for being such a valuable part of Our Village here at FIT4MOM Montgomery County! We truly appreciate you & the positive energy you bring to class and Our Village!
Check back to see who our MOM will be in October!
