Team Spotlight - July 2018

We have an amazing, dedicated and talented team of instructors, playgroup captains and managers here at FIT4MOM Montgomery County, and I thought it would be nice if we could get to know a little more about each one of them. I'm excited to continue our spotlight this month with....Sara Lunzer!

If you know Sara, you already know that she is one incredible human being. She can listen (& remember!) like nobody on this planet, she keeps it real and tells you how it is, she gives great advice about mom-ming, wife-ing and everything in between, she can bake like nobody's business, and she exudes love for every mom and child in this village. Getting to know Sara over the past few years has been nothing short of a privilege for me, and I'm thankful to have her as part of the #dreamteam in addition to calling her a friend.

Sara, thank you for being such an integral part of our team and for always being so supportive. I appreciate all you do for our Clarksburg families, our entire village, and for me!

xo, Heather

1. Who are the members of your family?

We have three boys, small (Link 3yo), medium (Ashur 15yo), large (Demetrias 20yo), myself and my husband John.

2. Where can people find you? Where do you teach/lead playgroup?

You can find me at SS in Clarksburg, both the Outlets (my playgroup is there on Fridays) and the Arora Hills locations. I can also be found sweating profusely at Run Club on Saturday mornings.

3. Tell us your FIT4MOM story!

I joined Fit4mom when Link was six months old. I had been struggling with postpartum depression as well as having a hard time adjusting to being a stay at home mom (I had been a full time working mother for sixteen years prior). I needed to get out of the house and make friends and get back in shape but didn't know how. My sister recommended finding a local Stroller Strides class since she had enjoyed them when my nieces were little. I went to my first class and signed up a week later, next came joining Body Back then before I knew it, I was signing up for Run Club!

4. What is your favorite thing to do with our kiddos and/or moms?

I love baking goodies for the mammas & kiddos! Sometimes we are decorating a cupcake to look like a polar bear foot print or we are having free play while the moms enjoy some homemade cold brew coffee and blueberry scones.

5. What is the BEST thing about being a playgroup captain?

Creating an opportunity for the kiddos and moms to strengthen friendships through play and socializing.

6. What is your WHY? Why do you keep doing what you do?

Fit4mom changed my life, it gave me a life, it gave me purpose in my day. I hope to play a small role in doing this for other moms!

7. What is a fun fact that many may not know about you?

I volunteered with the fire department for five years. I actually met my husband in the back of an ambulance where we were both training to be EMTs.

8. Anything else you'd like Our Village to know?

Making mom friends is hard! Keep at it, it can take awhile. Jump in to conversations about teething and potty training, ask a mom where she got her super cute pants or compliment a little one on how beautiful he or she is. Start anywhere, just start.

Thank you, Sara, for everything you do for Our Village here at #fit4mommoco!

Be sure to check back next month to learn more about another one of our {amazing} team members!
