June 2021 - MOM Motivating Mom of the Month

We are so excited to announce our MOM (Motivating Mom of the Month) for June! Each month we will take a moment to honor one of our local mamas at FIT4MOM Montgomery + Frederick Counties. We want to highlight her efforts to lead a healthy lifestyle and for her dedication to the program. This month we honor....Mandy Thrush!

I’ve loved getting to know Mandy as both a client, and a friend, over the last couple years. I admire how well she juggles being a mom while running a business but yet still prioritizes her own health/workouts. She gives each workout 100% and is up for any challenge. Our village is lucky to have her as a part of it! ~ Instructor Courtland

I have LOVED getting to know Mandy both on the screen and now in person! She works so hard, encourages all the other mamas, and juggles her young kids, always with a smile on her face. I am always excited to see Mandy on my class roster because I know she will bring the positive energy. I can't wait to get to know Mandy even better! ~ Instructor Jessie G.

I have LOVED getting to know Mandy both in person and in our virtual classes. It was always so nice seeing her and her daughter Olivia when I was teaching in person at Pike & Rose and Montgomery Mall. I could always count on her to help welcome any new moms and make sure that they felt welcome during classes. Her energy is contagious and I really admire how she is able to juggle motherhood and launching her property management company. I have enjoyed seeing her virtually and I can't wait to meet her son Lincoln once I make it back to in person classes! ~ Instructor Adrienne

We asked Mandy a few questions so we can all get to know her better, and here is what she had to say:

Who are the members of your family?

My husband Kyle, my almost 3 year old daughter Olivia, and my 13 month old son Lincoln.

What is/was your career?

Prior to having Olivia, I worked in buying and planning for Bloomingdale’s and Pandora U.S. (the jewelry, not the music). My husband and I then launched our own property management company in 2020.

When was your first class, and what do you remember about it?

My first class was in September of 2019 with Courtland at Montgomery Mall. Oliva was about 13 months old and cried the entire time. At the end of class Courtland asked if I wanted an unlimited membership, I said yes, and left thinking “that woman must think I’m out of my mind!” I came back two days later for a class with Ewa, and Olivia still wasn’t having it. A few classes later, Courtland (who I barely knew at the time) let Olivia sit in her double stroller with her son, and Liv was happy as could be. We haven’t stopped coming since!

Where can we find you? What is your FIT4MOM routine these days?

I do a blend of virtual classes and in person classes mostly at Montgomery Mall and Pike & Rose. My favorite formats are Barre and Boost, and I love to flex between in person classes, virtual classes, and on demand classes depending what works with my schedule.

What is your favorite FIT4MOM exercise?

I love good mini-band booty burners in barre, and always a fan of burpees. It’s all a love-hate relationship though, right!?

What has being a mom taught you?

The meaning of unconditional love.

List 3 of your favorite things.

Family time, friend time, and a really good iced coffee

Give us a giggle- What is your funniest or most embarrassing mommy moment so far?

We had one of our first indoor playdates at a friend’s house post-covid vaccines. My 13 month old son found a training potty, which unfortunately was full of pee, and dove right in. I’m guessing that is the first of many incidents to come having a toddler boy.

Any advice for other moms out there?

Be patient with yourself and prioritize your mental and physical health. You can’t be expected to show up for your kids every day if you don’t take care of yourself first. This reminder has been so important for me. We give all day long, and its ok to carve out some time to do something for YOU.

What would you tell someone who is considering attending their first #fit4mommocofrederick class?

Just do it! You’ll be surprised how welcomed and comfortable you will feel. You get the perk of prioritizing your health while bringing your kids with you, plus a community of moms in the same boat as you are. It’s also a great resource for ALL of the mom questions.

Thank you, Mandy for being such a valuable part of Our Village here at FIT4MOM Montgomery + Frederick Counties! We truly appreciate you & the positive energy you bring to class and Our Village!

Check back to see who our MOM will be in July!
