March 2021 MOM-Motivating Mom of the Month

We are so excited to announce our MOM (Motivating Mom of the Month) for March! Each month we will take a moment to honor one of our local mamas at FIT4MOM Montgomery + Frederick Counties. We want to highlight her efforts to lead a healthy lifestyle and for her dedication to the program. This month we honor....Megan Twombly!

I have loved having Megan in my virtual classes! She consistently shows up and is always ready to give it 100%! I can’t wait to finally meet her in person one day! ~ Instructor Courtland

Megan is an energetic mama, that always gives 110%! She comes to class rain, snow or shine and always has a smile (even under her mask). She’s a HUGE inspiration to her daughter, Claire. I’m so glad she’s a part of Our Village! ~ Instructor Meegan

We asked Megan a few questions so we can all get to know her better, and here is what she had to say:

Who are the members of your family?

Myself, my husband Austin, daughter Claire (3) and dog Marvin

What is/was your career?

I was a middle school math teacher before having my daughter and military moves made that not the right choice for our family at the time. I now am a senior team leader with Usborne Books and More so I can stay home with Claire.

When was your first class, and what do you remember about it?

Sometime in August 2020. I remember being excited to meet some new mamas and kiddos in the area after we moved here in July. Meegan was (and continues to be) so welcoming.

Where can we find you? What is your FIT4MOM routine these days?

I am doing a mix of virtual and in person in Frederick.

What is your favorite FIT4MOM exercise?

Oh goodness – I’m so bad at picking favorites. However, as a former ballet dancer, Barre class is my favorite. LOL

What has being a mom taught you?

It’s a work in progress, but it is teaching me patience and to let go of needing complete and total control. It’s amazing how our behaviors start to rub off on our littles!

List 3 of your favorite things.

Family/friends, Disney and the beach

Give us a giggle- What is your funniest or most embarrassing mommy moment so far?

Well, we don’t go out or do much these days, but a few weeks ago we had a repairman come to our house, and every time he walked back into the house, Claire would bark at him like a dog.

Any advice for other moms out there?

Just be present as much as you are able to be. All kiddos want the same thing – to be loved and appreciated.

What would you tell someone who is considering attending their first #fit4mommocofrederick class?

DO IT!!! As a military spouse it is especially difficult to make new friends for both myself and my daughter. We were in a similar group at our last duty station. I was hesitant at first to spend the money, but it has been one of the best decisions I have made. A community of mamas who want to be healthy and show our kiddos how important it is to stay healthy while also being there for each other is amazing.

Check back to see who our MOM will be in April!
